The Alcohol & Health Research Grants Scheme (AHRGS) provides financial support for independent research in the area of alcohol and health and is funded by Lion Nathan.

The grants are available to post graduate researchers on a competitive basis and as determined by the independent AHRGS assessment committee. Among the key objectives of the AHRGS is to build capacity among young researchers in the early stages of their career and, for example, assist them in building towards a position where they can compete for grants from the National Health & Medical Research Council.
